Custom Monogram & Video Projection for Sacramento Events
Custom monogram projection displays your names, initials, wedding date, or company logo in light — across a wall, a floor, or even your cake. Unlike most DJs, who use a static gobo locked to one fixed image, I use a high-resolution video projector, so your design can move, animate, or change through the night. I offer custom monogram projection for weddings, corporate events, and private parties across Sacramento and Central California, starting at $300.
How is your monogram different from a gobo?
Most DJs project monograms with a static gobo — a little metal or glass stencil that locks you into one fixed image all night. I use video projection instead, which means your monogram doesn't have to stay still. Want your names to fade into your wedding date at midnight? A photo slideshow during cocktail hour? A company logo cycling with a sponsor message at a corporate event? Video cake mapping that turns your cake into a moving centerpiece? All possible — because it's a projector, not a stencil.

School events: school letters, a mascot, or class colors for instant spirit.

How much does monogram projection cost?
Custom monogram projection starts at $300, which includes the projector, setup and on-site operation, and up to one hour of custom design to build your monogram — names, initials, date, or logo. Additional design time is $75/hour.
More advanced projection — animated sequences, photo slideshows, or video cake mapping — is available through a design consultation, since those take more time to design and produce. And here's a detail my couples love: the monogram we design doesn't have to live only on the wall. The same artwork can carry across your whole celebration — projected at the reception, printed on your photo booth strips, even matched to your invitations and signage — so everything from the first save-the-date to the last photo strip feels like one cohesive design.

Why does monogram projection need a consultation?
I don't offer this as a blind, click-to-add rental — and there's an honest reason. Projection needs a large, flat surface to look its best: a clean wall, a smooth drape, or similar. I don't bring a screen, so if a venue doesn't have a good surface, the image won't look crisp. A quick consultation lets me confirm your venue works, plan the placement, and design something that looks the way you're picturing — instead of putting your names up on a result I wouldn't be proud of.

Do you need a wall or a screen?
Projection needs a large, flat surface like a clean wall or smooth drape. I don't bring a screen, so we'll confirm your venue has a good surface during your consultation.
What's included for $300?
The projector, setup and operation, and up to one hour of custom design to create your monogram (names, initials, date, or logo). Extra design time is $75/hour.
Can you project a slideshow or onto a cake - a.k.a. cake mapping?
Yes — photo slideshows and video cake mapping are both possible. They take more design and production time, so we'll scope them in your consultation. Cake mapping in particular is a striking touch that's popular for larger family and cultural celebrations.
Can I use the same design across my whole event?
Yes — and I'd encourage it. Bring your own artwork or design one with me, then carry it everywhere: projected as your monogram, printed on your photo booth strips, and matched to your invitations, programs, and signage for one unified look. One design session, your whole event tied together.
Do I have to book you as my DJ?
Yes — monogram projection is offered exclusively alongside my DJ services, not as a standalone rental.
