How do I find affordable wedding DJ services?

We have the perfect solution! Cope Entertainment provides an All-Inclusive DJ/MC Wedding Ceremony and Reception package with a 21 year veteran at a surprisingly affordable rate.

How would you define your DJ/MC style?

Fun and engaging! No one wants a DJ/MC that feels forced or insincere, which is why we remain true to character with a natural approach to our performances. We’re not your stereotypical ‘cheesy’ wedding DJ, but we can be if that is theme you wish to create!

Yes, we do! While venue recommendations are very specific to one’s needs, we do have close working relationships with a few local, Sacramento gems: Scribner Bend Vineyards & The Firehouse Restaurant. Cope Entertainment appreciates the luxury atmosphere and environment, top-notch staff and 4-5 Star on-site catering these venues have to offer.

Why do DJ’s charge more for weddings?

Being a DJ is a small fraction of what goes into the responsibilities of a wedding DJ. They are expected to provide a list of services, including (but not limited to) professional MC, sound technician, lighting technician, event coordinator and communication specialist. Some wedding DJ’s are simply overpriced and eager to add-on as much as they possibly can. Cope Entertainment has earned our consistent 5-Star reputation by providing impeccable service at a surprisingly affordable rate.

What does a wedding DJ do?

The wedding entertainment industry has been completely redefined over the last 25 years. In this time, the role of a wedding DJ has slowly evolved into a full-service entertainment specialist. An experienced professional will incorporate due diligence in planning and background information with couples, coordinate between vendors, create a timeline, create playlists for all sections of the event, line up the wedding party, facilitate the toasts, cake cutting and spotlight dances, and then of course, they must also have the ability to be an impressive and knowledgeable DJ/MC that can read the crowd and keep them entertained.

Should I hire a DJ for my wedding entertainment?

Even if there won’t be any dancing at an event, the list of services a DJ provides still apply, including timeline creation and event coordination, PA and wireless mic rentals, lighting, photo booths, etc. Many people are under the misconception that wedding DJ’s bring lights and speakers and blow into a mic before pressing play like there is nothing to it. If you are looking for a seamless ceremony and reception, you will need the skills and experience of a professional entertainment specialist.

Can we submit a ‘Do Not Play’ list?

Yes, you most certainly can! Our user-friendly online planner provides you the opportunity to submit your ‘Do Not Play’ list through the music manager. 

Do you accept music requests from wedding or event guests?

Yes! We are more than happy to accommodate your guests by playing their favorite music requests, unless they are on the ‘Do Not Play’ list. Music requests can be submitted during the event, or beforehand through our online planner if you wish to share access with your guests.

When do we need to submit our music requests and event details?

All of your music requests must be submitted into our online planner and music manager a week before your event date.


How much do you charge?

Cope Entertainment’s All-Inclusive DJ/MC Wedding Ceremony and Reception Package provides everything you need at an affordable rate. All-inclusive means no hidden fees! We even give you the option to reduce services and decrease the total cost of your event.

What is included for the price of my event?

Everything you need to host an unforgettable event!

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes, we do! If your event requires less than described in our All-Inclusive package, we will reduce the cost accordingly. Active and retired military discounts are also available. Do you offer additional services?

Yes, we do! Cope Entertainment offers up-lighting, monograms, and photo booths, as well as planning and management for events of all types. Call Us today to find out how you can take your celebration to the next level!

How much of a deposit is required to secure our date and when is it due?

You will have one week to review the agreement with the date secured. Once we receive a signed copy and 50% deposit, you will have immediate access to your online planner.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Cancellation of your agreement must be provided in writing to Cope Entertainment no less than 90 days prior to the date of your event. Cancellations made in a timely manner will result in a full refund. Any cancellations made within the 90 day period leading up to your reserved event are non-refundable and will potentially require compensation to be paid in full. If you need to postpone your event, we will hold an available date of your choosing for up to a year.

How far in advance do I need to book you for my wedding or event?

Whenever you would like! If our availability is open, you can book Cope Entertainment the same week of your event. We recommend an early booking to ensure our availability on your chosen day, and ample time to plan a memorable celebration.

What does the DJ/MC require from us in terms of hospitality?

Our event team requires a hot meal and soft drinks for the duration of your special event. Similar to any other job, breaks are required by law. We strategically build our breaks into the event to avoid affecting our ability to perform when required.

Yes, Cope Entertainment is insured.


Do you entertain at events that are not wedding or corporate related?

Cope Entertainment mainly caters to weddings and corporate events, but we are available to perform at private parties and celebrations of all types. Contact Us to find out how we can provide you an event to remember!

What will the DJ/MC wear to my wedding or event?

We are experienced professionals who dress to fit the event. Most weddings require formal wedding attire, but we have accommodated every request from jeans and sandals to kilts!

How long will the DJ/MC play at my wedding or event?

Cope Entertainment’s All-Inclusive package starts with 6 hours for weddings and 5 hours for corporate events. Overtime can be added as needed, and discounts are available for events that require less time.

When will you arrive to set up your DJ/MC equipment?

We ask that you have your performance venue and stage area available to Cope Entertainment no later than 2 hours prior to the scheduled performance. For set up, we typically arrive 90-120 minutes prior to the event.

Do you bring backup equipment?

Yes, of course we do! Cope Entertainment brings the necessary equipment (with built in redundancy) to cover most any equipment failure you can imagine.

What if the DJ/MC scheduled for my event is unable to perform?

The show must go on! We have provided 25 years of dedicated service without missing a single scheduled performance. If your DJ/MC were unable to perform, we are fully prepared to provide you with a vetted, experienced professional.

What information do you need from me before the day of my wedding or event?

As a Cope Entertainment client, you will have access to our Client Portal. Here you will find a custom online planner and event consultation sheet to help organize event details. We ask all of the pertinent questions so that you can provide us everything we need to know about your special day.
